Some of our most treasured photos don’t age well – they fade, tear, or suffer from years of wear (just like we do). I understand how meaningful these images are, which is why photo restoration has become a real labour of love for me. Whether it’s a faded portrait of a great-grandparent or a cherished moment from the past, I treat each restoration with care and patience to bring the image back to life while honouring its original charm. I will discuss copyright legislation with you. In essence copyright belongs to the original photographer who took the photograph, who may or may not be the person in physical possession of the photograph now. Photographs before 1923 are considered to be in the public domain and are not subject to copyright. Outside of this, permission should be obtained from the original photographer or his/her heirs to work on the photograph. This should be taken into account if you intend to have photographs restored. In many cases the original photographer will not be known but it is still an issue that you need to be aware of.
I offer four levels of restoration depending on the condition of the photograph – from minor colour correction and light scratches to severe damage and full image reconstruction. I also offer colourisation for black and white images. Every job is different, and I’ll always be upfront about the time and cost involved. My goal is simple: to help preserve the photos that matter most to you

Whether you’ve taken a quick shot on your phone or used a camera on auto mode, small issues like poor lighting, red eye, awkward framing, or distracting details can take away from the final image. That’s where editing comes in – it’s about enhancing the photo without losing what made it special.
Using Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom, I offer a full range of editing and retouching services. From adjusting colour and exposure to removing blemishes, brightening teeth, or gently smoothing skin, I can help your photos look the way you remember the moment. I also offer more advanced work like compositing and image clean-up when needed. It’s about keeping things natural, while making sure the photo feels just right.
